Nolina texana (Texas Beargrass)
$ 16.98
Also known as Texas Sacahuista.
Texas Beargrass is not a true grass, but a clumping, stemless member of the lily family. It is evergreen and slow-growing, but hardy and low maintenance. It produces creamy white flowering stems in the spring or summer and has a weeping habit that looks great over a wall, slope, or hillside. It provides an excellent evergreen accent that works well with almost any other plant.
Texas Beargrass requires good drainage. It can be planted in full sun or part shade. Native Americans used the leaves for weaving baskets and mats.
